# Everton would need offer that ‘cannot be refused’ to sign Rabiot from Juventus

Everton would need to make Juventus an offer that they simply couldn’t refuse if they wish to sign Adrien Rabiot, according to reports.

The Toffees have been frequently linked with the France international over the past week, with the club’s interest [first being reported](https://readeverton.com/2019/12/30/everton-join-arsenal-in-chase-for-adrien-rabiot/) during the final days of 2019.

Everton are on the hunt for a midfielder during the current transfer window, and while the 24-year old had emerged as a target, the move looked to be dead in the water after both Rabiot and Juventus director Fabio Paratici [ruled out an exit](https://readeverton.com/2020/01/07/juventus-director-rules-out-rabiot-departure-amid-everton-interest/) this month.

Tuttosport have now provided an update, indicating that while a deal could be done this month, that it would be very unlikely and difficult to pull off.

[Reported by Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-need-make-offer-club-cannot-refuse-get-midfielder/), Tuttosport claim that with Juventus not keen on letting Rabiot go, it would take an offer ‘that cannot be refused’ in order to change Paratici’s mind.

The report goes on to say that since Rabiot signed for Juventus in the summer, the club feel that he is yet to show his full potential, so selling him wouldn’t be in their best interest.

Carlo Ancelotti had hoped that his former relationship with the player would help tempt him into moving to Goodison Park, with Rabiot having played under the Italian at Paris Saint-Germain

Tuttosport’s update on the Rabiot situation seems to have only compounded how little chance Everton have at landing the Frenchman, which would suggest that it is in the club’s best interest to move onto other targets.

With Andre Gomes and JP Gbamin out injured, and with both [Morgan Schneiderlin](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7856313/Everton-fans-rage-embarrassing-moment-Morgan-Schneiderlin-Liverpool-defeat.html) and [Fabian Delph](https://everton.vitalfootball.co.uk/tackles-like-hes-checking-the-water-temperature-these-everton-fans-slam-10m-man-after-nyd-loss/) having failed to impress in recent weeks, the club are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements, and with Rabiot seemingly too difficult to sign, Ancelotti should consider other targets.

[Farhad Moshiri has promised](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1220097/Everton-Farhad-Moshiri-January-transfer-Carlo-Ancelotti) Ancelotti that he will have funds to spend this month, and so the Italian should now take advantage of that and move onto his next candidate to fill that position.
