# Everton’s Yannick Bolasie eyeing first-team comeback in January

Everton forward Yannick Bolasie has been out injured for over a year but he is close to returning to first team action and he is targeting January as the time when he’ll be back in Premier League action.

The 28-year-old featured from the bench for the club’s under 23 side earlier today as he played the final half hour against Leicester City.

Speaking to the club’s [official website,](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/evertons-yannick-bolasie-eyeing-first-14024594)he said:

> Playing again was overwhelming. When I got on, I felt good. I knew about two weeks ago I was going to play in this game so it’s good.

Bolasie is targeting a return in the new year as he hopes to get back into the team and become a regular starter under new boss Sam Allardyce and it looks like he can’t wait to get back into first-team action once again.

> I want to be with the \[first team\] boys. Right now, the team is doing really well so you’re going to have to try to fight your way in but there’s no rush for myself. I know what my role is because a year out in football means it will be a month or two before I’m really back at it but the main thing is that I feel okay.
