# Fans demand more than just words from Gomes for West Ham game

Marco Silva will be delighted to welcome Andre Gomes back to the fold against West Ham this weekend, following his extended stay on the sidelines.

The Portugal international missed Everton’s recent Premier League losses to Bournemouth, Sheffield United and Manchester City, while he only came on in the last ten minutes in the Blues’ loss to Burnley at Turf Moor.

Now fit and ready to face the Hammers, Silva will be buoyed to have him back available for selection, particularly with Fabian Delph a doubt for the game.

Gomes will likely partner Morgan Schneiderlin in midfield, while Tom Davies and Gylfi Sigurdsson in a deeper role could be options for the Portuguese coach.

[In a post on Twitter](https://twitter.com/aftgomes/status/1184930218290634752), Gomes stated that he understands how important the next few games are for the Blues, claiming the club are working hard to improve.

Several Everton fans responded to Gomes’ post, claiming that while the 26-year old was talking a good game, it is what the players do on the pitch that counts the most.

### Read Everton Verdict

Fans are right to complain about these repetitive comments made by media trained players. While on paper it makes sense for Gomes, or Seamus Coleman, to come out and motivate the fans, it ultimately comes down to the performance levels of the players.

Everton have let their fans down in the last month, and the fans are deserving of a victory to restore some faith in the process and some hope for the remainder of the season.

Everton absolutely have to deliver against West Ham, or Silva could be on his way out and negativity will increase tenfold on Merseyside.
