# Football Fans React as Richarlison Impresses with Brazil

Plenty of football fans were quick to latch onto Brazil’s [eventful 2-0 World Cup qualifying win](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54982369) over Uruguay which saw [Richarlison](https://readeverton.com/2020/11/18/richarlison-scores-brazil-uruguay-everton-return-suspension/) score again for his country.

The fixture between the South American giants also saw a red card issued to Manchester United’s recent signing Edinson Cavani, with the 33-year-old sent off after a VAR review for a rash challenge on the Everton forward.

Richarlison has [since commented publicly](https://www.df.superesportes.com.br/app/1,307/2020/11/18/noticia_selecao,3871605/richarlison-cobra-autoridades-sobre-apagao-que-atingiu-o-amapa.shtml) on the dangerous challenge, claiming that the Uruguayan ‘went over the top’, but added that the tackle was not issued out of malice.

Fortunately for Richarlison and Everton fans, the talismanic 23-year-old was relatively unharmed by the challenge and has avoided injury. With his [three-game suspension](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/richarlison/leistungsdaten/spieler/378710) having expired, he is fit and available to feature in the Toffees’ clash against Fulham on Sunday.

In a boost for Carlo Ancelotti’s attacking plans, Richarlison appears match-sharp and ready to score. He got on the scoresheet as he doubled Brazil’s lead in the first half by rising high to meet a cross from Atletico Madrid left-back Renan Lodi before directing his header into the Uruguay net.

Richarlison has scored [27 goals to date](https://www.premierleague.com/players/24630/Richarlison/overview) in his Everton career – a testament to his importance to the Toffees.

An impressive overall display, capped with a goal and VAR drama, has earned the “quality” Brazilian attacker plenty of attention from Evertonians and general football fans alike. Here is what some had to say…
