# Giggs interested in becoming Everton manager

As reported by [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11095502/ryan-giggs-interested-in-everton-and-leicester-managerial-vacancies), former Wales international Ryan Giggs would be open to becoming the new Everton manager.

The former Manchester United player has not yet been tasked with a role in football management, but has made it no secret that he is keen to take the reins at a top club in the near future.

Everton confirmed that Ronald Koeman had been relieved of his duties at Goodison Park, prompting several links with other managers.

Giggs has confirmed that he is interested in the managerial post, and he also admitted to being keen on managing Leicester, who are also manager-less at the moment.

> I think you look at those two teams, Leicester being champions two seasons ago, Everton being a fantastic club with a fantastic history, for me these are clubs I would be interested in.

> However, there are a lot of coaches out there who would be interested in those positions.

The Toffees are currently in the relegation zone following an awful start to the Premier League season. The recent 5-2 home defeat to Arsenal has evidently proved to have been the final straw, with Koeman now dismissed.

> I’ve said all along that I’d be open to clubs which share the ambitions of myself. I want to improve clubs and improve players, to enjoy working for them and for players to enjoy the challenge.

Sean Dyche has been linked with the Everton job too.
