# Jagielka and Deulofeu set for Everton exit

In Koeman’s usual pre-match Press Conference, he was [asked](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-boss-koeman-says-gerard-12478502) about the precarious futures of Gerard Deulofeu and Phil Jagielka. Geri has been rumoured to be seeking an exit ever since AC Milan’s interest was reported early in January.

Koeman had this to say:

> I spoke to Geri and it’s a difficult situation for the player. If he finds a solution to go and to get game time then okay it’s no problem.

> But the final decision is by the board of the club to accept an agreement or not.’

Many of us expected Geri to be leaving for Barcelona, or another big move after success with Everton all those years ago when he arrived, so to see him leave after majorly disappointing is a sad thing indeed.

However, more controversially, Phil Jagielka is a player reported to be wanting out of Koeman’s Everton.

The boss had this to say:

> I don’t know. It’s all about if there are offers for Jags. In the last few weeks he hasn’t started but it’s important because he’s the captain of the team.’

> He is not happy because he is not starting. That’s a good signal. What you need to do as a player is fight and make it difficult for the manager.

What do you reckon Blues? Is Koeman right to cast out Geri after just half a season? And is the Captain really surplus to requirements? Who should be the new Captain?
