# Kean contacts Roma star ‘for information’ amid reported interest

Moise Kean has reportedly contacted Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo ‘for information’ amid reported interest from the Seria A club.

The Italian striker has been at the centre of Everton transfer speculation this week, with many reports linking him with a return to Italy.

AC Milan, Sampdoria and Roma are all said to be interested in signing the 19-year on loan in January, with the forward having struggled to settle at Goodison Park since his £27million summer switch from Juventus.

Kean has yet to score for the Toffees in 11 appearances across all competitions, while many of those games saw him feature as little more than a cameo or out of his natural position.

Following the reveal earlier this week that Kean missed last weekend’s game against Southampton due to being late to a team meeting, Italian media have run with rumours of an early exit, citing his poor form and ‘attitude issues’ as reason why Everton might cut loose.

According to Corriere dello Sport ([via Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-youngster-asked-close-friend-information-new-club-silva-knows-situation-tough/)), the striker has contacted Italy international teammate Zaniolo to ask about Roma, presumably indicated he would be open to moving to the Stadio Olimpico in January.

The report claims that Everton would be open to allowing the forward to leave in January on a temporary basis, with Marco Silva not feeling that this current moment is the right on to ‘wean’ a young and experience player like Kean.

PSV Eindhoven, Marcel Brands’ former club, have also been tipped as a potential destination for a short-term loan.

### Read Everton Verdict

I still find it hard to believe that any of this speculation is anything more than simple paper talk. While Moise Kean’s current Everton situation isn’t ideal, I just can’t see Everton cutting loose so soon, even on a temporary basis.

Kean will only adapt to the Premier League by playing regularly in that division, and a loan move to Italy wouldn’t help prepare him for the English top flight any more than sitting on the bench would. The Premier League has a different tempo and style, and Kean needs to adjust.

Patience is required but I have faith that at some point he’ll come good. Not every player is a Sandro Ramirez, some just need time to bed in, free from constant criticism.
