# Koeman spoke to Giroud about a move to Goodison

According to [Foot Mercato](https://www.footmercato.net/premier-league/info-fm-everton-ca-va-bouger-en-attaque_205513), Everton manager Ronald Koeman has spoken over the phone with Olivier Giroud over a potential move.

The report claims that the duo spoke on the phone this week to discuss a switch to Everton from Arsenal.

It was reported earlier this week that Arsenal will hold talks with Giroud later this week after they sort out the future of Alexis Sanchez.

It remains to be seen whether he will be an [Arsenal](https://readarsenal.com/) player next season, with [Bayern Munich](https://readbundesliga.com/) and [Manchester City](https://readmancity.com/) thought to be waiting in the wings to sign him.

It is said that Sanchez will hold talks with [Arsenal](https://readarsenal.com/) later this week, which is when Everton will find out if they can sign Giroud.

It is said that Giroud is not interested in a move back to France and Everton have not yet lodged a bid for the French international striker.

Giroud could be surplus to requirements after the club signed Alexandre Lacazette for a club-record fee.
