# PSG sporting director admits permanent Moise Kean deal could be ‘complicated’

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo expressed an unconvincingness over the prospect of retaining Everton’s [Moise Kean](https://readeverton.com/2021/02/19/ian-wright-thinks-moise-keans-everton-career-is-over/) at the Parc des Princes, given the [current economic climate](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jan/14/covid-19-impact-leaves-major-european-football-clubs-with-1bn-loss) in football, arguing that the “complicated” nature of the market means it will be hard to gauge a fair assessment of the player’s value.

The on-loan Toffees marksman has starred in a very productive spell for the Parisians, scoring [14 goals in all competitions for PSG](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/moise-kean/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/364135/verein/583) so far this season, but it remains unclear as to whether the Ligue 1 side will sanction a deal to convert his effective loan spell into a permanent move.

Speaking to [Le10 Sport](https://le10sport.com/) \[via [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-psg-moise-kean-transfer-23567077)\], Leonardo admitted the complications of a Kean deal, saying:

> Today, knowing a value is difficult. The choice was obvious. We made the choice to take a young player. We took it for one year, then we’ll see.

> Everton didn’t want to lose him. He plays very well, he scores. He has an important future, but there, we cannot know.

> We could not do otherwise than the loan and I think that today having it available for a year was already very positive.

> If we can see the future under certain conditions, we will try to see how it goes, but today, it’s very complicated to know.

The [£27.5m signing](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-psg-moise-kean-transfer-23567077) managed [just four goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/moise-kean/profil/spieler/364135) in his time at Everton, with Carlo Ancelotti unable to yield the best out of the former Juventus starlet.

Securing a significant fee for Kean could provide a surprise welcome windfall going into the summer transfer window, which could prove crucial for Everton’s [long-term rebuild](https://readeverton.com/2021/02/26/lucas-digne-contract-comments-ancelotti-influence-everton/) as reports of a [£100m transfer war chest](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-big-money-signings-headed-to-everton-as-100m-moshiri-plan-revealed/) emerged.

A deal for Kean could ease strains on Evertonian purse-strings and provide the backdrop for exponential sporting growth.
