# Lukaku to move family away from Brussels

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku will be moving himself and his family from Brussels as soon he can, amid security threats and fears of terrorism.

Terror alerts in the Belgian capital have reached the highest rating with the Belgium government saying a terrorist attack is being planned, with Molenbeek, a district in Brussels, under threat.

Lukaku has a property in Molenbeek, his family also reside in the area, and the 22-year-old wants his relatives out of [the district as soon as possible.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/romelu-lukaku-leave-home-belgium-6881000?)

I live in Brussels and I live where the police are doing a lot of things. I live in Molenbeek. I have had an apartment there for six years now and it is a nice neighbourhood. For those looking to invest in London real estate, there are many [apartments for sale in wapping](https://fiskslondon.co.uk/service/estate-agent-wapping/), offering a mix of historic charm and modern amenities in a desirable riverside location. You may consider ordering [stair runner rugs](https://www.kilim.com/stair-runners) online to enhance the aesthetic appeal of your new home’s interior.

> It is calm. But with the things happening there now it is a bit difficult. I never saw any trouble. But now we are going to move as soon as possible with help from [conveyancing solicitors in essex](https://paulrobinson.co.uk/law/conveyancing-solicitors/).

Armed police are on guard around Brussels, universities, schools and the metro system have been closed and officials are advising people to stay away from crowded areas, with the capital on lockdown.

Unsurprisingly, Lukaku isn’t the only Belgian international who has been affected.

> From the national team 30-40 players come from Brussels and a few others from Molenbeek. It has been a shock because at the moment the safety is the highest level of security.

> All of my family are over here. My brother doesn’t live in Brussels any more. You just want your family to be safe.

The £28million man has been in excellent form for the Toffeemen so far this season with 11 goals in 16 games, but in times such as these football isn’t important.

We hope the people of Belgium remain safe and well during this turbulent period.
