# Manchester United want Richarlison in January

Manchester United are interested in signing Richarlison in January, according to reports.

The £40million forward is currently in his second season at Goodison Park, and he has featured in every one of Everton’s Premier League fixtures so far in this campaign, scoring twice.

The Brazilian has emerged as a main transfer target for Man United, if reports are to be believed, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate to sign new recruits both in midfield and up front in January.

[According to Express Sport](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1200684/Man-Utd-transfer-shortlist-Ed-Woodward-January-deals-Solskjaer-Sancho-latest-news-gossip), Richarlison is one of seven transfer targets that United are considering ahead of the January window, alongside James Maddison (Leicester), Emre Can (Juventus), Mario Mandzukic (Juventus), Moussa Dembele (Lyon), Erling Haaland (RB Salzburg) and Jadon Sancho (Dortmund).

While United have promised Solskjaer that he will have funds to spend in January, it is believed that the club will not rush into spending, and they will wait to land one of their targets next summer instead if necessary.

The 22-year old has become a pivotal part of Everton’s team under Marco Silva, with the former Watford man finishing his first season at Goodison Park as the club’s joint-top league goalscorer, having scored 13 goals in the Premier League.

### Read Everton Verdict

I can’t see Everton entertaining any reasonable offer for Richarlison in either the summer or in January, and given Richarlison’s recent form, I cannot see United stumping out the necessary cash to sign him anyway.

Richarlison has blown hot and cold this season and part of that is due to his inability to remain on his feet. The forward’s diving antics have surpassed ridiculousness, and he now ultimately damages Everton on a weekly basis by limiting their attacking threat while he is clutching his side on the ground.

I feel safe from outsider interest right now, because Everton won’t let him go without significant profit being made and no one will likely bid that high.
