# Everton fans optimistic over chances of Max Aarons deal

Many [Everton](https://readeverton.com/2021/02/24/everton-morning-news-round-up-24th-february-2021/) fans are feeling optimistic that the right conditions exist to bring top Toffees target [Max Aarons](https://readeverton.com/2021/02/24/everton-to-revisit-max-aarons-interest-in-summer-window/) to Goodison Park.

According to transfer expert [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1364184202602815494), Everton could rival Bundesliga and Champions League title holders Bayern Munich for the English right-back’s signature.

> Everton are interested in Max Aarons as potential target for the next transfer window. He’s in the list, as Ancelotti is looking for a new right-back. ? [#EFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/EFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

> It’s gonna be a long race: Bayern Münich have already opened talks with Norwich to sign Aarons, Man Utd scouted him too.

A move to Merseyside would see the right-back reunite with his [former teammate](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/max-aarons/profil/spieler/471690) Ben Godfrey, with the pair playing alongside one another with Norwich in the Premier League last season.

Everton [maintained interest in Aarons](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclusive-everton-prepare-bid-for-max-aarons-norwich-city) during the January transfer window but were put off by the Canaries’ reported [£35m valuation](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11688/12219026/max-aarons-transfer-news-norwich-place-35m-price-tag-on-defender-as-bayern-munich-begin-negotiations) of the player. That context could change as a result of recent reports detailing that Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is prepared to unleash a [£100m influx of transfer funds](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-big-money-signings-headed-to-everton-as-100m-moshiri-plan-revealed/) to bolster Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Aarons is under contract at Carrow Road [until 2024](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/max-aarons/profil/spieler/471690), and the Canaries will be under no pressure to sell. A big-money move to bring the 21-year-old to Goodison Park may be the only means possible of seeing him in a Blues shirt, and his move could form the cornerstone of a wider squad rebuild in the summer.

Many Everton fans were optimistic that he could arrive, citing Godfrey as a major differential over other interested parties as Bayern Munich and Manchester United, with one fan hoping he will have the “good sense” to plump for a move to Merseyside:
