# Mirallas signs new deal

Kevin Mirallas has ended speculation over his future by signing a new three-year-deal at Everton.

The Belgian winger was the subject of interest from Tottenham and West Ham United over the summer but has put pen-to-paper on a deal that runs until 2018.

Many Evertonians were resigned to losing the 27-year-old, Mirallas’ comments over the last few months seemed to suggest that he wanted a move.

Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund were believed to have registered an interest in January, but no formals bids ever materialised.

“I’m very happy to sign.” Mirallas told the [Liverpool Echo.](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kevin-mirallas-signs-new-everton-9813745)

“I’ve signed at Everton to win a trophy. I’m at a good team and I can continue my performances here.

“Now I am very happy because I can concentrate on my team and our future, starting with the Premier League tomorrow.”

Toffees midfielder James McCarthy signed a new five-year-deal with the club on Thursday, so the good news keeps coming for Everton.

Both McCarthy and Mirallas are now two of the highest earners at Goodison Park.

Mirallas scored 11 goals in 34 appearances for the Blues last season and after a strong pre-season he will look to hit the ground running in the new campaign.

Roberto Martinez expects the tied-down winger to be fit for Everton’s opener against Watford, the no.11 suffered an ankle knock against Villarreal on Sunday.
