# Moshiri left unconvinced by Moyes

Farhad Moshiri is reportedly unconvinced by David Moyes, despite others on Everton’s board pushing for the former club stalwart, according to reports.

The Scotsman, who managed Everton from 2002 to 2013, is currently out of a job after leaving West Ham at the end of the 2017-18 season, and is reportedly being considered to replace Marco Silva at Goodison Park.

The Portuguese coach has come under considerable pressure in recent months, and following defeat to Norwich last weekend, the Toffees have begun preparing for life beyond the former Watford boss.

Fan reaction to a potential Moyes return has been largely split, with some feeling he’d be a solid option on a short-term deal until the end of the season, while others feel it would be a backwards step by the club.

[According to Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-moshiri-stance-on-everton-appointing-moyes-revealed-after-talks/), both chairman Bill Kenwright and CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale are keen on reuniting the club with Moyes, while owner Moshiri has his reservations.

Moshiri wants a manager who can excite fans, and he feels that Moyes isn’t the man to do that on Merseyside, instead considering him to be a ‘safe’ option.

I’m glad that Moshiri has been able to see and understand the outcome from appointing someone like David Moyes, who would frustrate and disappoint so many supporters.

Moyes was a great servant to Everton, and despite the issues he caused after leaving, there are many fans who will be endlessly grateful for what he achieved at Goodison Park. However, he would still represent a backwards step.

With the resources and the players at their disposal, Everton should not be considering Moyes in 2019, and appointing him would send the wrong message to prospective recruits across the continent.
