Opposition Danger Men: Middlesbrough

Everton and Middlesbrough have both enjoyed successful starts, considering the expectations placed upon their respective heads. The Toffees currently occupy third place with 10 points as one of the three teams still to be beaten so far this season. Boro sit in ninth place with five points, with only one defeat to their name.

Everton’s latest result saw them romp to victory against Sunderland, winning 3-0 in a game which turned out to be the epitome of ‘a game of two halves.’ The Riversiders, on the other hand, fell to their first defeat of the season against a new look Crystal Palace, who fielded record signing Christian Benteke.

Everton’s new signings are becoming more settled by the day, with all four that have played so far impressing. Boro have integrated new players with their Championship promotion squad, as Adama Traore, Álvaro Negredo, Viktor Fischer and Victor Valdes all played against the Eagles.

So here we look at the three Middlesbrough players who could prove to be the biggest thorns in Everton’s proverbial side, and the one player who will be of most value to Ronald Koeman’s side if Everton are to emerge from the dust with all three points secure.

Let us know down below who you think Everton’s most important player will be.
