With a string of difficult fixtures coming up, Everton will be looking to collect as many points as possible this month to avoid being cut off from the pack and will need a good result against Southampton if they are to do that.
Everton currently lie in seventh place with 19 points, whilst Southampton sit in 11th place with 14 points.
Although both the Toffees and the Saints drew level in their latest Premier League fixture, the club experienced very different results. Everton’s last-gasp equaliser against bottom place Swansea was very much maligned by fans, who saw it as a hugely disappointing reaction off the back of the hammering by Chelsea. Southampton meanwhile earned a goalless draw against then league leaders Liverpool, a decent result against the best footballing team in the top flight as of right now.
So, here we look at the three Southampton players who could prove to be the biggest thorns in Everton’s proverbial side, and the one player who will be of most value to Ronald Koeman’s side if Everton are to emerge from the dust with all three points secure.
Let us know down below who you think Everton’s most important player will be.
