# Premier League rivals register interest in Everton loanee Kenny

Jonjoe Kenny has emerged as a possible defensive target for a number of Premier League clubs, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all said to be interested, according to reports.

The Everton full-back is currently in Germany having signed a season-long loan deal with Schalke at the beginning of the season, and he isn’t due to return to Merseyside until the current campaign has concluded.

With Seamus Coleman nearing the end of his time at Everton and with Djibril Sidibe not yet confirmed as a permanent Toffees player, many had assumed that Kenny would be ready to return to Goodison Park to compete ahead of next season.

The 22-year old has earned admirers through his performances this season though, having quickly become a mainstay in David Wagner’s team in Gelsenkirchen.

Now according to a report from Mail Online ([via TBR](https://tbrfootball.com/report-arsenal-and-spurs-want-evertons-jonjoe-kenny/)), the Premier League trio are keeping tabs on the boyhood Evertonian’s progress ahead of making a move next summer.

Spurs and Chelsea specifically are light in the right-back area, while Arsenal have seen numerous injuries in that position in recent times.

It will be interesting to see where Kenny stands when he returns to Merseyside in the summer, because he will certainly expect to now be a regular starter after a full season of doing so in the Bundesliga.

Coleman will likely be fazed out as Everton look to the future, but should the Blues confirm the permanent signing of Sidibe, it will be interesting to see which defender lines up in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting side.

Should Kenny elect to leave if he isn’t picked to start, it would obviously be more preferable that he returns to Germany than join another top six rival, although Everton may find it difficult to turn down an offer should one of the three clubs make one.
