# Quiz: How well do you know Allan’s pre-Everton career?

Since signing for Everton in the summer for [around £25m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/allan/profil/spieler/126422) when bonuses are included, few would dispute the centrality of [Allan](https://readeverton.com/2020/12/17/everton-fans-react-to-allan-injury-leicester/) to Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.

The 29-year-old has had a distinguished career in football, mostly in the upper echelons of the Italian game with 212 appearances for Napoli \[[Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/allan/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/126422)\].

His deep-lying anchoring effect in midfield offers reinforcement and stability to a back line which [hasn’t always been watertight](https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-soccer-england-bur-eve-preview/ancelotti-backs-everton-to-overcome-defensive-issues-idUKKBN28E2QR) during Ancelotti’s reign.

A [recent hamstring injury](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-injury-news-allan-richarlison-19473148) is a significant blow to his progress and piqued the [concerns of some Everton supporters](https://readeverton.com/2020/12/17/everton-fans-react-to-allan-injury-leicester/).

Dogged midfield enforcement, prolific play-making and an incisive aggression to his game are [key components of the Brazilian’s abilities](https://toffeeanalysis.com/2020/08/30/scout-report-allan/), although details of his qualities are nothing new to Everton fans.

To that end, here’s a test of your knowledge of Allan’s career prior to his arrival on Merseyside. See how many questions you can answer correctly!
