New Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane wants to make a splash in the Spanish capital quickly as the club have already been linked to Everton and England defender John Stones.
The catch for Madrid? The ex-Barnsley centre back was touted for a move by none other than ex-manager Rafa Benitez, according to reports, which would inevitably make for a compelling reaction from both fans and the media if he does swap Goodison Park for the Bernabeu.

Stones has been a hot topic in the rumour mill since the summer and has been touted all over the Premier League and beyond, but most reports said the 21-year-old was supposedly going to Chelsea in the summer window.
Barcelona also want Stones, so it appears that a bidding war is on the horizon for the England international.
Stones has made 62 Premier League appearances in his young career, thus giving him a great amount of experience for a player of such a youthful age.
It will be curious to see how fans of the club will receive Stones as Zidane’s first Galactico if the transfer does indeed happen.

It has been said that the defender will cost upwards of £35 million, and with a potential transfer ban said to be hanging over the heads of Los Blancos, they might break the bank for the young defender as players such as Pepe and Sergio Ramos get further past their prime.
But if history is any indication, the Spanish giants will have to be careful and take good care of the young Englishman in order to not have the second coming of Jonathan Woodgate.
