# Richarlison makes five-man shortlist for Manchester United

Manchester United have placed Richarlison on a five-man shortlist as they look at potential attacking recruits ahead of the January window, according to reports.

The Brazil international has scored eight goals for Everton this season, having scored 13 Premier League goals during the previous campaign for the Toffees.

The Red Devils are keen to bring in another forward in January to ease the burden on Marcus Rashford, and the 22-year old possesses the attributes that could see him succeed at Old Trafford, particularly as he can play both through the middle and out wide.

The Evening Standard ([via Mail Online](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7829787/Everton-star-Richarlison-one-five-attacking-targets-lined-Manchester-United.html)) claim that Richarlison is an option for United, while the Premier League giants will also have a number of other targets in consideration for the position, with Moussa Dembele and Erling Haaland believed to be two of them.

It is believed that while manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would like to recruit in January, he would be prepared to wait until the summer if he had to in order to land the targets that he wants.

Everton won’t want to let the Brazilian go, and with Richarlison having signed a new five-year contract earlier this month, they won’t have to let him go underprice either.

### Read Everton Verdict

[It was reported earlier this month](https://readeverton.com/2019/12/20/ancelotti-to-build-team-around-richarlison-and-digne/) that Carlo Ancelotti had sought assurances over the future of both Richarlison and Lucas Digne before taking the Everton job, as he wants to build a team around them. If true, that rules out any talk that the Brazilian could leave.

Some had concerns following Marco Silva’s sacking that Richarlison might become unsettled, with the forward having previously claimed that Silva had become akin to a father figure to him. However, Richarlison’s admiration and love for the Toffees has shone through, and it seems extremely unlikely that he’ll become unsettled.

If Everton intend on matching their own ambition and growing as a club over the next few years, then Richarlison should absolutely not be considered for sale, no matter the transfer fee received.
