# Rodriguez Heads Out On Loan

Leandro Rodriguez has joined Championship side Brentford on a one-month loan deal, [according to GetWestLondon.co.uk](https://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/dean-smith-makes-first-brentford-11053815).

The Uruguyan striker has yet to break into Roberto Martinez’s first-team plans since his move across the Atlantic, but he did string together some impressive displays for the Everton U21 outfit before picking up a hamstring injury in October.

The 23-year-old made a promising start to his career on Merseyside, scoring in each of his first two appearances for David Unsworth’s U21 side.

But his hopes of playing up top for Everton in the Premier League look to be on hold, as he will spend the next four weeks with Dean Smith’s Brentford outfit.

The loan deal should be beneficial for the young forward, however, as the Bees are currently languishing in 17th place and are in urgent need of a goalscoring threat.

If Rodriguez can get start firing at Griffin Park, a call-up to the first-team squad may be on the horizon.
