# Sandro not fazed by goal drought – an admirable attitude

Sandro Ramirez has spoken out about his scoring drought, claiming he isn’t fazed by his recent barren run in front of goal.

The Everton flop is currently on loan with Real Valladolid in La Liga, his third Spanish top flight loan in the past three seasons, and the forward has yet to score for any of them.

Signed for £5.2million from Malaga in 2017, the Toffees had high hopes from Sandro, but after just eight Premier League appearances in his first season on Merseyside, that hope quickly dissipated.

Sandro joined Sevilla in January 2018 for six months, then was loaned to Real Sociedad last season for the duration of the campaign. Over those two loan spells, the 24-year old failed to score in 41 games in all competitions.

However, now at Valladolid, Sandro has expressed that he is relaxed about his barren run, claiming that he is confident and knows that goals will come eventually.

Talking in a press conference on Wednesday ([via Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-flop-calm-unenviable-goalscoring-drought-important-year-coming/)), Sandro said:

> For me, it’s a very important year. I’m very excited.
>
> When you’ve gone some time without scoring like I have, you need \[confidence\]. A striker lives for goals, but I don’t believe that feeling.
>
> I’m calm because I’ve always scored goals and I will continue scoring goals.

### Read Everton Verdict

Sandro’s determination is admirable, you have to give him that. He seems like a nice enough guy, his only downfall was that while he was wearing Everton colours he was a terrible footballer.

Still, you’d like to hope he can find his footing again. His contract will have just 12 months remaining when he returns to Everton next summer, and I can’t see any scenario where he isn’t shortly out the exit door. But for his sake, I hope he can reignite his career.
