# Shock Lamela move on the cards?

Everton could make a shock move for Spurs winger Eric Lamela, [according to reports](https://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/everton-make-massive-bid-for-spurs-winger-lamela-4093775) in France.

[The Mirror live blog](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-transfer-news-live-deadline-6359845)have quoted respectable French publication L’Equipe who claimed this morning that Everton yesterday made a 25 million Euro (£18m) offer for Lamela to complicate the player’s move to Olympique de Marseille.

The report slightly contradicts other reports that Mauricio Pochettino had pulled the plug on any deal for Lamela after being unhappy at the falling through of a deal for Saido Berahino.

Everton have been in the market for an attacking midfielder who can bring creativity to the Blues’ midfield, but few expected that name to be Eric Lamela. The Argentine had also been close to a deal with Inter Milan this window before the deal seemingly fell through. The deal would cost the Blues an awful lot of money for a player who could be labelled a flop at White Hart Lane.

Would you be happy with the signing of Eric Lamela?
