# Silva confirms interest in Barcelona ace

Everton boss Marco Silva has hinted at a move for Barcelona defender Lucas Digne, as speculation surrounding the Frenchman intensifies.

[As reported by the Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-step-up-lucas-digne-14939814), Silva has all but confirmed that the former Paris Saint-Germain defender is on his radar this summer, when speaking to Sport TV.

The Toffees boss also confirmed his interest in Watford’s Richarlison, but a deal for the Brazilian is believed to be at a far more advanced stage when compared to Digne’s potential move.

> There are two possibilities, I will not hide. These are strong hypotheses. Richarlison is an excellent player and Digne is not by chance where \[Barcelona\] he is. Hopefully, it’s not easy.

Digne has been heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park after falling out of favour at the Nou Camp.

He, along with the likes of Andre Gomes and Paco Alcacer among others are set to move on from the Catalan club as they look to trim their squad over the summer.

Everton have been searching for a new left-sided defender recently as Silva tries to identify a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines, who is reaching the latter stages of his career.
