# Tosun returns to training – Does he have an Everton future?

Cenk Tosun has returned to Everton training this week following an injury lay-off, but his uncertain future is still an interesting point of discussion.

The Turkey international has missed the majority of the Toffees’ pre-season campaign so far after picking up a knee injury toward the end of last season, and while he escaped needing surgery, the forward was aware that he would miss a chunk of Everton’s preparations for the upcoming campaign.

Tosun has travelled with Marco Silva and his squad in their trips to Switzerland and Germany, but the 28-year old is yet to take to the field just yet as he steps up his recovery.

Tosun’s future is still so uncertain on Merseyside, with reports coming in left and right with clubs who are supposedly set on signing the former Besiktas man.

Everton face Werder Bremen in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday and it will be interesting to see whether Tosun makes an appearance, and while that may not prove that he is close to the exit door, it won’t do him any favours in trying to force his way into Silva’s plans.

Juventus forward Moise Kean looks close to completing his move to Goodison Park and with both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison ahead of him in the pecking order, I’d still wouldn’t bank on Tosun remaining at the club.

However I would also not be too surprised to see Everton cling on to the forward, who they value at £20million. Oumar Niasse is still to depart, and maybe Silva might keep the big Turk as a back-up option for the time being.
