Tactical Genius
Unai Emery has proved himself to be one of the best managers out there at the moment, and his tactical knowledge has backed that up completely.
Many, many times in Spain he has got the better of other teams due to his obsessive approach to the opposition.
Emery uses hour-long videos to show his players exactly what he wants them to do to nullify their opponents. And repeatedly, his obsessiveness has worked as last Wednesday he achieved his third successive Europa League with Sevilla.
Sporting director?
Recently there has been a lot of talk of Everton taking a new route in the football world and by that, I mean appointing a sporting director. Many clubs have used this new modern philosophy and it’s worked as well. Barcelona, Ajax and Manchester City all have sporting directors and Everton could be the next club to utilise one.
Sevilla is another club who have employed a sporting director and it’s there where it has been the biggest success story. Sevilla’s sporting director ‘Monchi’ has transformed Sevilla’s future and has been a huge part of bringing in good players for small amounts of money.
Unai Emery has positiviely worked with a sporting director besides him and with Everton looking to appoint one, Emery could well and truly fit at Goodison Park.
Experience
Something Evertonians want at the moment is someone they know could come into the club bring success, and in my opinion Unai Emery would definitely bring that to Goodison Park.
Despite a dip in Russia, two fantastic spells with Valencia and Sevilla has proven his winning mentality. In his first season with Valencia he took them to 6th which was then followed by 3 successive 3rd place finishes in the league.
Whereas with Sevilla, Emery has finished 5th, 4th and 7th.
The right man for the job? Seems to be.
