# Virals: Everton have ‘made an approach’ for starlet Yuri Alberto

[Everton](https://readeverton.com/2021/10/28/leon-osman-savages-everton-picks-out-achilles-heel/) have reportedly ‘made an approach’ for Internacional youngster Yuri Alberto.

The 20-year-old striker is believed to be hot property following a [string of impressive displays](https://www.sofascore.com/player/yuri-alberto/905463) in the Brazilian top flight.

Alberto, a compatriot of [Allan](https://readeverton.com/2021/10/26/guy-mowbray-rips-into-allan-for-everton-diving/) and Richarlison, is wanted by AC Milan, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Lyon, Napoli and Roma as well as the Toffees.

That’s according to a report from [Torcedore](https://www.torcedores.com/noticias/2021/10/acerto-verbal-sonho-com-a-selecao-e-nao-a-gigante-europeu-como-esta-a-negociacao-entre-milan-e-yuri-alberto) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/club-received-enquiry-everton-brazilian-already-turned-million-dollar-offer-cl-club/)), as cited by [Sean Lunt](https://twitter.com/Sean_Lunt) on Twitter.

The report claims that despite an agreement between the [14-cap Brazil youth ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yuri-alberto/nationalmannschaft/spieler/489893/verein_id/37018) and Milan already being in place, there remains a ‘significant’ difference in the valuations.

Internacional wants an €80million (£67.5million) release clause met in full whilst the [Serie A table-toppers](https://www.skysports.com/serie-a-table) are hoping for a reduction in the fee.

Signed from Santos in 2020, Alberto has scored [28 goals and provided five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yuri-alberto/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/489893) in 78 appearances for *The Red.*

### READ EVERTON VERDICT

Valued at £5.4million and under contract in Brazil until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yuri-alberto/marktwertverlauf/spieler/489893)), paying the mooted eye-watering release clause would be a huge gamble for the Blues.

Albeit Rafa Benitez’ is in need of additional attacking options, as highlighted by recent [injuries](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/dominic-calvert-lewin-richarlison-injury-21870152) to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison, spending an astronomical fee on a player untested in Europe is a risk.

Boasting [strong attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/348261/Show/Yuri-Alberto) in the final third, were Alberto to become available at a more affordable price, Everton should then be involved in the pursuit.
