# Virals: Everton ‘initiate contact’ for Aaron Ramsey transfer

[Everton](https://readeverton.com/2021/12/03/virals-ac-milan-considering-move-for-everton-star-yerry-mina/) have reportedly ‘initiated contact’ to negotiate the transfer of Juventus midfielder [Aaron Ramsey](https://readeverton.com/2021/11/12/virals-everton-most-interested-in-juventus-midfielder-aaron-ramsey/).

The 30-year-old is deemed [surplus to requirements](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aaron-ramsey-arsenal-transfer-everton-20554406) in Turin and has been attracting plenty of interest as all parties look for a resolution.

According to a report from [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/juve-svolta-vicina-per-ramsey-ecco-dove-puo-andare-a-gennaio-i-d-26237), as cited by [BBC Sport](https://twitter.com/BBCSport/status/1468845367999356929) on Twitter, the Blues have kickstarted discussions over a January move.

The report claims that any deal for the [71-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/nationalmannschaft/spieler/50057/verein_id/3864) ace shows promise of ‘reaching the finish line’ ahead of the transfer window.

So far this season Ramsey – hailed as [‘world-class’](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9703595/Joe-Allen-hails-Gareth-Bale-Aaron-Ramsey-claims-Wales-team-mates-answered-critics.html) by Joe Allen – has made just [five fleeting appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/leistungsdaten/spieler/50057) for the Old Lady.

Meanwhile, the Welshman isn’t the only midfield target on the radar at Goodison Park as Rafa Benitez also eyes a move for Borussia Monchengladbach ace Denis Zakaria according to [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/denis-zakaria-attracting-premier-league-interest).

### READ EVERTON VERDICT

Still valued at £9million and under contract in Italy until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/marktwertverlauf/spieler/50057)), any deal for Ramsey would likely still come at a cost to Everton.

At the right price and likely high wages notwithstanding, signing a player of the quality and [calibre](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/erfolge/spieler/50057) of the ex-Arsenal man would remain a viable option.

Boasting [473 club appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/50057) and a bulging trophy cabinet, adding Ramsey to a midfield containing Allan,  Andre Gomes and Abdoulaye Doucoure would be a shrewd capture.
