# Virals: Top Everton target takes aim at current club on Instagram

Reported [Everton](https://readeverton.com/2021/08/30/virals-everton-close-in-on-salomon-rondon-move/) target Ainsley Maitland-Niles has taken to Instagram to take a swipe at current club Arsenal for not sanctioning a move away.

The Toffees have seen a loan move with an option to buy proposal rejected by Arsenal, who have made a U-turn with manager Mikel Arteta seeing Maitland-Niles as part of his plans.

The plan was to bring the [5-cap international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ainsley-maitland-niles/profil/spieler/285845)in to compete with Seamus Coleman at right-back, but a last-ditch change of heart in north London will see him remain at the Emirates.

Consequentially, the player made the bold move of taking to Instagram on Monday to vent his frustrations at being denied a move, as shared by David Ornstein of The Athletic on Twitter.

‘All I wanna do is go where I’m wanted and where I’m gonna play’, said Maitland-Niles as he accompanied his message with a few crying emojis.

He even tagged his current employer Arsenal in the story post.

Maitland-Niles could have injected versatility at Everton.

He [can play as a right-back,](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ainsley-maitland-niles/profil/spieler/285845) central midfielder and a right-sided midfielder but has only featured once in the league off the bench this season and has made no starts.

He was seemingly a peripheral figure under Arteta, but an abysmal start for Arsenal has seen the Gunners doing anything but firing strong.

They have conceded nine goals and failed to score, leading them winless and rooted to the bottom of the table after the first three games.

As a result, it is not hard to see why Arsenal feel he still has something to offer them.

However, his Instagram agitation could be revealing; to go so flagrantly public with his disappointments is alarming and he may be intent on forcing a move.
