Whether Everton actually want to sign Conor Gallagher from Tottenham

Everton are expected to reinforce their squad in the upcoming transfer windows under David Moyes.

The club’s precarious position in terms of their ownership could throw a spanner in the works of their transfer activity, but the Toffees need to stay on their toes to consolidate their Premier League status.

After beating Newcastle United 3-1 in the Carabao Cup, Moyes spoke about Everton’s ambitions, which is a sign that he is committed to making the club successful.

In terms of their midfield options, the likes of Christian Norgaard and Hayden Hackney joined the club during the summer transfer window.

And now, if reports from England are to be believed, Tottenham midfielder Conor Gallagher is slowly emerging as a target for the club.

Contrasting claims emerge on Conor Gallagher to Everton

Fussball News initially reported that the Toffees have added Gallagher to their list of targets for the January transfer window.

However, TEAMtalk appear to refute those claims, suggesting that Everton have other priorities to address.

The Friedkin group are eager to sell the club, but in the meantime, they are also committed to backing Moyes adequately in the upcoming transfer windows.

TEAMtalk’s report further states that Everton like Gallagher but will instead focus on signing a striker, while they could also do well with a couple of reinforcements at full-back.

Gallagher is an experienced campaigner and knows the Premier League inside out, while he is also an England international.

However, he joined Tottenham less than a year ago and is tied down until 2031, so Everton could face an uphill battle to convince him to swap North London for Merseyside.
