Speaking with Spanish newspaper Marca, Gerard Deulofeu spoke about how he is much happier this season than he was at the same point in the season last year.
Last season, the arrival of Luis Enrique at the helm of Barcelona saw Deulofeu shunted out on loan to Sevilla where things did not go to plan for the young Spaniard.

Deulofeu made 28 appearances for Sevilla, registering only 3 goals with his spell at the club was largely viewed as a failure.
Yet since his permanent move away from the Nou Camp, Deulofeu has once again started to play with the same confidence and swagger which frightened full-backs during his first stint with The Toffees.

So far this season, Deulofeu has notched up an impressive total of 2 goals and 7 assists for Everton, making him one of Roberto Martinez’ key attacking threats. He is also enjoying a purple patch with the Spanish under-21 side and scored a sublime hat-trick against Georgia midweek.
It is clear to see that Deulofeu is a different player and according to the man himself it is down to his happiness. ‘I’m much happier, of course. You can see it on the pitch. I take the car in the morning and I go in happy to training.’
Therefore, it goes without saying, it is of the utmost importance that Roberto Martinez keeps Gerard Deulofeu happy.
