Blackburn Rovers, Leeds United and Spartak Moscow have enquired about the possibility of taking Everton winger Aiden McGeady on loan, according to a report from Simon Jones of the Daily Mail.
McGeady, who is keen to play regular first-team football in order to cement a place in the Ireland squad for the summer’s European Championships, was told at the start of the window that he will only be able to leave if his agent can find a club willing to pay his £50,000-a-week wages in full.

It remains to be seen if Everton would stick to their guns on this issue as January comes to an end, as getting a small loan fee and a portion of McGeady’s salary off the books could be appealing to the club as the player looks to be nowhere near the first-team at present.
A step down to the Championship or a move back to Russia could suit McGeady and allow him to play regularly between now and the end of the season.
