The forward will move to Sheffield Wednesday on a loan move after making one appearance for the Blues this season in the Capital One Cup at Barnsley.
McGeady was also taken off at half time in that tie and has not shown any promise of breaking into the first team this season with Gerard Deulofeu, Aaron Lennon, Kevin Mirallas, Arouna Kone and Steven Pienaar all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Now the Irishman is looking to reignite his career in the Sky Bet Championship with the Owls before potentially returning to the club after the Euro 2016 championship.
Roberto Martinez confirmed after the game against Carlisle on Sunday that the winger had two loan offers pending and would choose between the two before tomorrow’s deadline.
The Catalonian said:
We’ve agreed terms with two teams in the Championship [for McGeady]. Just a matter of time before one of the deals is clinched.
That will make sure he comes back having had a good period of football and of having an impact for whichever team he joins.
It looks as though Aiden is in Roberto Martinez plans for next season, but depending on if Everton recruit a winger in that time it may see the forward leave in the summer.
