Everton manager Roberto Martinez has expressed his joy at the former Arsenal shareholder Farhad Moshiri who joins the club as an investor with the hope of significant investment into the squad.
The Iranian-British businessman purchased an initial 49.9% for what is thought to be £85million with the promise of pumping significantly more funds into building the team and to look into the stadium situation. Evertonians have rejoiced as not only has Moshiri pledged to pump money into the club, it has been reported that one of his biggest tasks is to keep hold of their current stars, a task which the businessman is confident he can manage.
With Roberto Martinez under pressure at times this season, it is now more than ever that the Catalonian needs to hit form. The club will evaluate from now until the season what they can do in terms of on the field achievements as well as off the field and should Martinez fail to make the top half this season, his job is one issue the club may look into.

Speaking in his press conference, Roberto has explained that he can manage the pressure that comes with investment. He said:
It is something I want. As a manager I didn’t arrive at Everton saying ‘I hope I can stay here six or seven years and go through the motions. I set the bar really high, I wanted a winning team and I wanted to get into the Champions League and that is still the case. The chairman and myself will embrace that pressure and that need of delivering the right outcome as we have a strong belief in what we are doing.
Martinez also went on to explain just how important this deal is for the club and its future. He explained:
Farhad Moshiri will bring us a different dimension. It is a big moment in the club’s history with a new investor coming in. The vision Moshiri is sharing will take Everton to the next level – and every single department will be assessed. It is not just how much money you can spend because in the Premier League, with the new TV deal, you will have money to spend. It is creating a club that players want to come to as they feel they can reach their potential and win things. We want to become a winning team. I hope I have a billion pounds to spend in the summer – that would be very nice – but I don’t see that as the success of bringing Farhad into the club. It is more what we need in the next five, 10, 15 years in terms of creating the perfect club for a player.
Everton face Aston Villa on Tuesday night in a game that the Blues will be looking to win with their impressive away form matched with Villa’s poor form in general.
