How good was that?! Something special, that’s what! Everton saw off a resilient Chelsea with Romelu Lukaku bagging a brace late in the second-half.
The game was a feisty one, big tackles and players wearing their hearts on their sleeves but Everton were well disciplined in their endeavours while that cannot be said about Chelsea and more specifically Diego Costa who was sent off late into the game for an altercation with Gareth Barry.
Unfortunately, Barry was also sent off late into the game, a cynical tackle on Cesc Fabregas while already on a yellow card gave the veteran his marching orders.
Fortunately for Everton, the Blues were already 2-0 up with Lukaku bagging an extremely impressive first goal taking on five players as well of the keeper and slotted into the bottom corner. Goodison was rocking!
It got better, though, Ross Barkley playing through the Belgian again five minutes later who placed a right-footed shot under the onrushing Thibaut Courtois. The Toffees managed to see out the game which sees them secure their place at Wembley and in the Emirates F.A Cup Semi-Final.
“We shall not be moved…”
