Ronald Koeman is close to agreeing a deal to become the new Everton manager, according to ESPN.
The report claims that sources close to both Southampton and the Toffee’s are confident that a deal is close to completion. It was reported this week that Farhad Moshiri was looking to complete a deal before the weekend or at most by the end of the week, which looks likely after the club held positive talks with Koeman’s representatives.
According to ESPN, Moshiri has convinced the Dutchman after offering him significantly higher wages that were available at the Saints as well as a transfer budget that is thought to be around £100million as the club looks to rebuild.

Several players are out of contract when the transfer window opens and the futures of John Stones and Romelu Lukaku are no closer to being finalised. Koeman would be expected to have a similar effect on Everton that he did on Southampton after the club lost Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Morgan Schneiderlin and others but managed to still finish 7th last season and place 6th this season.
Should a deal fall through for Koeman, both Unai Emery and Frank De Boer are still in the frame and may be relied upon.
