Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gueye is due to have a medical ahead of a move to Goodison Park, according to ESPN.
The Toffees were reported to have triggered the release clause in Gueye’s contract, thought to be in the region of £7million, with Steve Walsh thought to be involved in the deal after attempting to bring the midfielder to Leicester before signing N’Golo Kante.

When looking at Idrissa’s stats last season, the Senegalese international came second – behind N’Golo Kante – in terms tackles made, tackles won, interceptions, duels won and even came first in the Premier League in terms of recoveries.
Should the midfielder sign, it would be Ronald Koeman’s second singing of the summer after Maarten Stekelenburg was signed from Fulham for an undisclosed fee.
The club have also been linked with big name players, with Axel Witsel, William Carvalho, Juan Mata and Kalidou Koulibaly all linked with a move to Merseyside this summer.
