Embarrassing. Shocking. Disgraceful.
And that’s just Jagielka.
Anyway, I wish I could discard that completely and never think about it again. I’ve got a few hundred words to scribe, though.
Not even going to say the game started well. It didn’t. As soon as the whistle went we were in trouble, and it came to a head in the 19th minute as Chelsea netted two goals in a minute with Stekelenburg looking shell-shocked for both.
Then, Roberto Martinez decided to remind us of his Everton tenure as Costa was left in about 30 yards of space from a corner who netted past Stekelenburg with ease.
First half went by and you wouldn’t be alone if you can’t remember any Everton action from that half whatsoever.
Second half wasn’t better, don’t kid yourself. Hazard scored a worldy. Pedro scored a tap-in.
What now, Koeman.
First of all, refund those fans and go from there.
Not to discredit Chelsea, they were absolutely superb, and Hazard was scintillating. They deserved to win, and win they certainly did, we definitely won’t face a harder team than this Chelsea side all season. They made every Everton player look like a kid straight out of the academy, and the cruelly ironic thing being that Davies, a kid straight out of the academy, was our best player.
We didn’t have a shot. That’s not metaphorical, we actually didn’t kick the ball at the goal.
Once.
All game.
Ratings.
