Everton are looking to sign Chelsea defender Baba Rahman in the summer, according to a report from Ghana, his home country.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Bundesliga side Schalke, for whom he’s played 17 games this season. Reports suggest that the German side would like to keep the player on a permanent basis, but Everton are apparently eyeing a move for him as they look for a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines.

With Ronald Koeman admitting that the current crop of players are on the ageing side, Baba would provide some youth in a position that sees a 31-year-old Baines and a 26-year-old Bryan Oviedo.
The question this begs is where would this move Brendan Galloway? The youngster impressed when called upon early in the season while veteran Baines was ruled out with injury, but Galloway has since joined West Brom on loan.
It looks likely that Tony Pulis will terminate the loan deal in January and if Everton sign Baba, it is likely that one of the left-sided full backs will have to look for a new club.
