Everton are lining up a move for Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi, according to reports.
The Blues are apparently looking for a long-term successor to 32-year-old Leighton Baines and whilst there is no immediate desire to replace the left-back, Everton want to add somebody to the squad who can come in when required so that he doesn’t need to play every week.

Amavi, 22, joined Villa for £9million back in 2015 and signed a five-year contract upon his arrival so they will be in no hurry to sell him. However, if they do decide to let him go, they’re in a strong position to make a decent profit on him and Everton will have to stump up the cash.
Amavi is also attracting interest from France but he is reportedly keen on staying in England as he wants to play in the Premier League.
Whilst promotion is by no means out of the question for the Villans – they are currently six points off the playoff places – the Frenchman could push for a move in January if Everton do come calling.
