Everton have made an enquiry to West Brom striker Saido Berahino, as per a report from Simon Jones of the Daily Mail.
The Blues are looking to add more firepower to their squad in January and are seemingly eyeing up a cut-price deal for the 23-year-old.
Berahino’s contract runs out at the end of the season and West Brom will not be keen to let him leave on a free transfer so could accept bids in January, although they won’t get anywhere near the reported £20m that Tottenham were apparently offering when Albion refused to sell him.
According to the report, a number of clubs on the continent are keeping tabs on the situation as it’s believed that West Brom will only be owed £300,000 in compensation if he does leave on a free.
Everton, if they wish to secure the player, will probably need to get him in January, so it’ll be interesting to see if they do decide to make a bid and if so, how much they value the player at.
Berahino has hardly featured this season due to concerns about his fitness levels but when 100%, he’s shown he has the ability to score Premier League goals.
