Everton have made an initial approach for Roma defender Kostas Manolas, according to Sky Sports and their colleagues in Italy.
The report claims that Ronald Koeman would like to strengthen his defence this month and Manolas looks to be one of the names on his list.

The Greek international has played over 100 times for Roma since joining for £10.8m from Olympiacos but has been plagued with injury of late, having made only 18 appearances so far this season which could lead to Roma cashing in.
Chelsea have been previously linked with the player as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his side ahead of a title run, but Ronald Koeman would be hoping to persuade the defender to join the club with the likelihood of consistent first team football.
Ronald Koeman is also looking to sign Morgan Schneiderlin and reports suggest that a deal is nearing completion, so much so that he could be in contention to face Manchester City next weekend.
The club have already completed a deal for youngster Ademola Looman, who signed on Thursday in a £7.5m deal.
