After being released by Everton at the end of last season, Arouna Koné looks set to stay in England, with Championship side Bolton Wanderers the favourites to sign the Ivorian striker, according to beIn Sports.
Koné, 33, who has 39 international caps to his name, only managed to find the back of the net on 10 occasions during his time on Merseyside and looks set to drop down to the Championship with Phil Parkinson’s Bolton.
The striker failed to make an impact at Goodison Park, where he moved to reunite with Roberto Martínez after his impressive season with Wigan Athletic back in 2012/13, having missed the majority of his debut season through injury.
QPR were close to signing Koné back in the January window, but were put off by his £40,000 wages. This could be the only obstacle that Bolton face in getting Koné to the Macron Stadium, with the place also attracting interest from several Turkish sides.
