Everton manager Ronald Koeman has confirmed that the club are in talks to extend Idrissa Gueye’s contract at the club.
There has been speculation of late that Everton were looking to hand Gueye a new deal, with Koeman confirming those rumours to be true.
Speaking to The Mirror, ahead of Everton’s Europa League fixture on Thursday, Koeman said this:
It’s true that we are in talks with him about a new contract.

I’m really happy with him.
Gueye signed for Everton from Aston Villa in the summer of 2016 and signed a four year deal. Everton are now looking to reward him for his excellent form since joining the club by giving him a new contract.
The 28-year-old is set to earn a heft wage increase as part of the deal, with his contract looking set to extend a year further than it does at present.
Gueye heavily impressed last season for Everton as they secured a Europa League place and was regarded as one of the best signings the club made last summer.
