Everton’s interim manager David Unsworth has revealed his “surprise” at Sam Allardyce openly ruling out a move to the Merseyside club as manager, according to the Guardian reporter Andy Hunter.
The Toffees are still deciding on who they will appoint as their permanent manager following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman.

When he was quizzed about the prospect of taking over at Goodison Park, the former England and Sunderland boss said:
For me, after such a long time without a decision I had to make the decision myself. It would have been a fabulous job but it just didn’t feel right.
Unsworth will still be in charge of the team going into Saturday’s clash against fellow relegation strugglers Crystal Palace and he is hoping that the managerial situation is over sooner rather than later.
It would surprise me that anyone would rule themselves out of being Everton manager because this is an amazing club with the best fans, as we saw at the last match.
The caretaker boss is still keen to take over on a permanent basis but also revealed that if someone else was chosen ahead of him, he will have no hard feelings and will wish them all the best with taking the club forward.
Everton were hoping to push for a top-four finish but have found themselves fighting to stay away from the relegation places this season.
