With both sides flirting above the relegation zone, Sunday’s game between Southampton and Everton is a big one.
Neither side would’ve expected such a poor start to the season, including the Toffees’ humiliating Europa League campaign, where they were eliminated with two games to spare.
With Everton only managing one league victory in their previous six, and the Saints only victorious once in their last seven, both sides will be looking at this game as a chance to get back to winning ways and head in the right way up the table.
The Toffees have only lost one of their last five outings against the Saints, winning three and drawing the other. Caretaker boss David Unsworth will be hoping to leapfrog their opponents with three points at St Mary’s on Sunday.
Here at Read Everton, we’ve created a combined XI between the two sides over individual performances so far this season.
