Everton will have Phil Jagielka back from injury for the short trip to Liverpool on Sunday after he recovered from a recent injury, the Times report.
Jagielka, 35, is Everton’s most experienced defender when it comes to appearances made in Merseyside derby’s, however, this will now give new manager Sam Allardyce one of his first managerial headaches as Toffees boss.
The Everton captain is expected to make the matchday squad as they look to make it three league wins in a row against their rivals who have been deadly in front of goal over the past month.

Jagielka hasn’t featured for Everton since their 4-0 drubbing at Southampton, since then, Mason Holgate and Ashley Williams have partnered up at the back in the Toffees recent wins, where they have not conceded a single goal.

Williams looks set to keep his place in defence, but who will partner him remains unknown, with Jagielka hopeful of making it 18 appearances in the derby come Sunday.
