The England international had been angling for a move away from Goodison Park since the summer but opted to remain at the club to recover from a long-term injury.

He is now building his way back to full fitness and has joined Chelsea in a cut-price deal. Although Barkley had the chance to join the Blues for a fee worth roughly £35 million in the summer, he will now arrive at Stamford Bridge for only £15 million.
Barkley came through the ranks at Everton but soon became disillusioned with proceedings as he looked to further his career.
He will now hope to make an impression at Chelsea under the tutelage of Antonio Conte, despite the club’s depth in central areas.
