Thomas Tuchel was lined up by Everton to replace Ronald Koeman in November but, according to German news outlet Sport Bild (via Click Liverpool), he turned down the Toffees’ approach.
Tuchel has been out of work since departing Borussia Dortmund last season as a result of disagreements with the club’s hierarchy.
He has since been linked with a number of different posts, most recently the Chelsea job. However, it has been revealed by Sport Bild that Everton did indeed approach the German following Koeman’s sacking in late October.

After a long-winded chase for a new manager, Everton appointed Sam Allardyce, much to many of the club’s supporters’ frustration.
However, efforts were evidently made to land managers from the upper echelons of football, such as Tuchel.
It’s stated that the ex-Mainz boss is biding his time over his next job, with the young tactician hoping to land himself a top job at a big club in the near future.
