Everton have received a huge injury boost for the Merseyside derby, as Idrissa Gana Gueye is set to play.
The Senegalese midfielder has been out of action since the conclusion of the international break, after he sustained an injury on national duty.
With 27 appearances this season, the 28-year-old’s presence in the heart of the midfield is something Everton have repeatedly looked for in the campaign, and his work-rate was certainly missed in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City.

A snapchat uploaded to Gueye’s account showed him partaking in training work, with all clues pointing towards him returning to the team as soon as possible.
In addition, it was reported by the Liverpool Echo this afternoon that Gueye completed a full training session, with no issues that were noted.
The match falls in an interesting time for Liverpool, as they keep their minds on their Champions League quarter final with Manchester City. The Reds will carry a 3-0 lead to the Etihad to try and reach the Champions League semi final.
Can Everton take advantage of a distracted, weakened Liverpool team?
